In the context of the European Cooperation Day, the Managing Authority and the Joint Secretariat of the Interreg IPA CBC Greece Albania 2014-2020 will hold an awareness event at the island of Zakynthos, highlighting the implementation of the project Climate-Smart Coastal Practices for Blue governance”-BLUECOAST.
In the morning, every person on the island can join the local main beneficiary “Zakynthos National Marine Park” who will organise a volunteer cleaning of the seaside at Limni Keriou with the support of Management Agency of Zakynthos National Marine Park, NGO and Civil Society Organisations and with the intention to raise environmental awareness.
The same morning and subject to availability, there also will be a public excavation of a sea turtle nest at Marathonisi beach, an action that makes the public familiar with the importance of the monitoring of biodiversity and will underline the importance of one of the specific objectives of the Programme (increase the effectiveness of environmental protection and sustainable use of natural resources).
